Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 officially launched in India

The much rumoured Galaxy S Duos 2, successor of 2012 model Galaxy S Duos (GT-S7562) has been released in India via online store.

The smartphone is now listed on the Samsung's India online store for Rs. 10,999. However, there is no word on the availability of the device, with the page providing a 'Notify Me' option for consumers.


The Galaxy S Duos 2 is also available through online retailers for a discounted price of Rs. 10,730, quoting roughly 3 business days of delivery time.

The specifications of the device are consistent with what leaked yesterday. The Galaxy S Duos 2 flaunts a 4-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor paired with 768MB of RAM.
Other features included are a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front camera, 4GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 64GB using a microSD card and a 1,500mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough to survive 8 hours of talktime and 280 hours on standby mode.
Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 3G support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean wrapped under Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
In related news,  Samsung is also rumoured to release the recently unveiled mid-range phablet Galaxy Grand 2  in India next month.
